The staff of the Research Centre for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences are driven by no less goal than to be the most excellent among Hungarian research facilities in the field of humanities, and to represent the greatest traditions and most advanced research tendencies of Hungarian scientific culture within the international community. They are predestined to strive after this goal by the continually renewing intellectual strength and dedication of the research centre. They consider their most important task to do internationally outstanding basic research in the interdisciplinary topics represented by the member institutes. Beyond this they aim to renew communication with key actors of Hungarian and international scientific life and to make the research of humanities visible for the public aided by modern media.
